Prezi Link

Here is the link to a Prezi presentation I created for a different class: http://prezi.com/bwnoxf7swelu/semesters-celebrations/

I am sharing here because I think it is a great new technological tool (similar to powerpoint but slightly more interesting). I hope you enjoy :-)

Blackboard

The blackboard site for this class has a very detailed and careful explanation of our class assignments, which has been very helpful for me when completing assignments outside of the classroom. I appreciate the external links section as well, which gives quick and easy access to the websites and blogs of classmates. It was also nice to be able to access and continually reference our group member information. Blackboard was particularly useful to me when I used it to send an email out to the entire class to gather information via the SurveyMonkey I made for our class project.

Jina's Page

Jina's webpage is very clear and well-organized. She reveals a lot of simple personal information that helps the page visitor learn more about her personality and life. It was very nice to see pictures of her wedding, and to learn about the song she sang. It's fun to be able to learn more about my friends and their interests through the website assignment. Jina's page is a great example, too, that will serve as a great model as I finish the rest of my own website.

Cynthia's Webpage

Cynthia's page is great! She also uses cells on every page, as Will has. This is where her links to other pages and assignments are. I think I remember Cynthia saying in class that she had taken a more advanced Technology class before this one, and this is evidenced on her page! She has beautiful assignment pages, and she also has one "assignment" flash page with very cool graphics of a piano and shapes which move. This looks more advanced that what I can do! There are different pictures on each of her pages, and her bio page taught me things I didn't know about her, even though we're friends and in the same program! This was a nice way to learn some new things about a friend.

Group Progress

It has been increasingly difficult to schedule meetings with all of my group members, so we have been meeting in pairs to work on parts of our project. Last night I met with Tiffany to work out the plan for our Mac vs. PC commercial that we are hoping to have time to film in class today. All of our group members are bringing in artistic props (instruments, masks, art supplies, etc...) and Tiffany and I will appear in a fun Mac vs. PC commercial for our project. Kristina and Lauren will continue this evening to edit the clips that we each filmed already, and we will fit this commercial in between.
Last night, I also created a surveymonkey that we will likely use to survey the class's preferences on PCs vs. Macs. We are still working out whether or not we want to include this data in our final presentation. I'm looking forward to a lot of progress tonight on our presentation!

Will's Page

I clicked around my friend and classmate Will Coppola's webpage, and was quite impressed. Will has managed to create a website that is professional while fulfilling his assignment requirements. There is music playing on the first page, and Will talks about his qualifications as a musician and educator on the site. His assignments utilize his own music and his own school experience, therefore everything points back to his music education qualifications. Will's site also looks extra nice since he has used cells at the top to differentiate his links. I like it!

Group Progress

As of now, our Group Project has changed and morphed from a class reality show into something larger and broader.
Each group member interviewed 5 colleagues and artists outside of this class in order to find out their preference: Mac or PC.
We decided to venture beyond this class setting to find out if there is a trend among actors, dancers, musicians, and teachers using a certain type of computer to do a certain thing.
Each of us has created these movies, and we have discussed creating our own film in order to string this all together, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Our schedules don't sync up at all! We have been communicating via email, and shall see how it all turns out this week in class. I'm excited to see what's in store!
